ഏ 約束の三日後、九月二十八日ふたたび名古屋市の海外室へ電話を入れました。

結論からお話しますとフルノ女史は、 「 昨年九月十日に現地法人の整備士が事故車を調査し、ボルト折れの原因は家内に報告してある」 と、原田室長の書面を棒読みにしたのであります。

この事務員も流石はトヨタ自動車の社員です。 自分の立場に責任感を感ずるどころか、己の発している言葉の意味を解っていない。どの部署からも事故原因の報告がないから、尋ねて来たのだと三日前に伝えたはずでした。

また、私がこれまでに海外室あてに提出した四通の書面と、原田室長に送った報告書を何通よんだか正すと、声にならない言葉を呟いたが、後の言葉は飲み込んでしまった。 自分の仕事にたいする誠意や情熱が全く感じられない。

そして、彼女は思い出したように声を震わせた。 現地スタッフの電話に対応するのは何時も家内で、貴方が受話器を取らないから話が進まない。 話がこじれている原因はトヨタ自動車ではなく貴方にあると叫んだ。

私は確か、その考えは原田室長の受け売りか尋ねたと思います。 ふたたび会話が途切れました。 話が前後しますが室長と話したい旨を、何回か口走った様に記憶しております。 トヨタ自動車は録音していたでしょうが、私は公衆電話だったので定かではありません。

I think that I asked whether it is a certainty, and the idea is echoing of general manager Mr. Harada. The conversation became interrupted again. It is memorized that the effect that spoke with the general manager was blurted out several times though the talk does back and forth.

Because I was a public telephone, it is not certain though Toyota might have been recording.
